Coronavirus (COVID -19) information
Since the early part of 2020, the coronavirus pandemic has
sadly forced changes to many aspects of our lives.
Funerals have been greatly affected, with the guidance
and law altering on a regular basis - to try and control the
virus and keep people as safe as possible.
It’s a confusing and worrying time for everyone and much
more so if you have recently lost a friend or family member,
but please, rest assured we will do everything we can to help,
guide you through the changes, making things as easy and as stress free as we can.
We have been encouraged to limit face to face meetings with families as much as possible and we try to do as much as we can over the telephone, by email or post. There is always someone available on the phone 24hrs a day to talk through any concerns. When families do come to our chapel, the government has made use of face coverings mandatory * to protect yourselves and others. There are touch free dispensers for hand gel, hand washing facilities as you enter the building, and a regular cleaning routine.
All of our local crematoriums have made changes to services, by restricting numbers of mourners who can attend, allowing enough time to clean the Chapels between services and introducing the option to stream the service over the internet for those unable to attend in person.
Churches (at the time of writing) are beginning to open for small funeral services, again with limited numbers of mourners.
As with other indoor gatherings, anyone attending a service either at a Church or Crematorium is now required to wear a face covering. *
*some people are exempt due to health or other issues
